Brian Joura Mets360: "The Mets got six shutout innings from their pen. Unfortunately, that only took them thru the seventh inning. And the eighth was a disaster, resulting in a 9-2 loss to the Pirates Saturday night in Pittsburgh."
NY Post: "...it rained in the top of the second inning, and after a delay of 1 hour, 29 minutes, the Pirates changed pitchers. Mendoza stood pat with Paul Blackburn. In the end the Mets were left soggy. Blackburn got stomped right out of the delay and the lineup continued its pattern of disappointment in a 9-2 loss to the lowly Pirates at PNC Park..."

"The players-only meeting lasted less than a half-hour on the heels of a dispiriting 9-2 loss to the Pirates on Saturday. About six or seven players spoke, and though no one seemed to want to go into detail, themes emerged: cohesion, communication and community. Oh, and winning. The Mets need more winning."
